| and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), Wallick expanded all 60 units by 100 SF to reconfigure kitchens and bathrooms, improve accessibility and create an open floor plan. Environmentally-friendly green features also were added in the units, including Energy Star appliances, energy-efficient lighting and a central HVAC system. |

| on the National Register of Historic Places. Also financed using LIHTC and ARRA funding, as well as state and federal Historic Tax Credits, all 48 units were rehabbed and reconfigured to enhance accessibility and incorporate universal design features to improve seniors’ quality of life. Green features also were added to the units, as at Almond Village, including low-VOC paints and adhesives and low-flow faucets and toilets. The Berwick’s common spaces also have been updated and enhanced for improved accessibility and appearance. | |||||||||||

The 79-acre community is home to 3,000 residents who live in 703 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments. Scheduled for completion in March 2013, this $36 million project will be the largest green renovation of an affordable housing community in the nation. |
