Wallick Creates Employment Partnerships to Assist Residents

To help residents who live in Wallick communities develop job skills and find employment opportunities, Wallick has entered into partnerships with two non-profit organizations in Ohio.

    

 

 

 

 

 

 

Wallick Wins Six Tax Credit Awards in 2011

So far this year,
Wallick-Hendy Development
has won five 9% Low Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) development awards. In addition, the company won
a Housing Development Assistance Program (HDAP) award that will be combined with 4% tax credits.

Communities receiving awards include:

Castle Village, Brodhead, Kentucky

Eminence Village, Eminence, Kentucky

Lawrenceburg Village, Lawrenceburg, Indiana

Haddon Hall, Cincinnati, Ohio

Lawrence Village, South Point, Ohio

Sunnyview Square, Delaware, Ohio

 


        
Cincinnati Works
helps people living in poverty to become economically self-sufficient  through job readiness training and advancement coaching as well as employment and retention services.
The organization works with about 90 employers and helps more than 400 people find jobs each year. According to the organization, 80% of Cincinnati Works’ members retain continuous employment over one year, compared with the national average of 25% for similar programs.
Central Ohio Workforce Investment Corporation (COWIC)
based in Columbus, helps people obtain, retain or upgrade employment and helps employers gain and maintain a qualified workforce. COWIC offers one year of ongoing mentoring assistance.
The employment partnership initiative stems from Wallick’s new non-profit organization — Resident Resources Network, Inc. (RRN) — created last year to oversee the resident services programs at Wallick communities.
“Our residents’ primary need is employment. These workforce development organizations can help residents develop work skills and secure jobs,” said Betty Howton, RRN Executive Director.  “It’s another step in fulfilling Wallick’s commitment to make a difference in our residents’ lives.”
